Interview with Mukund Bhagwat, Corporate Energy Affairs at Aurubis
Mukund Bhagwat has been working in the field of Energy and Climate Affairs since 2008 at Aurubis and advising different organisations on the issues related to maintaining the competitiveness of Energy Intensive Industries while achieving EU goals of Energy and Climate Change. Below his views on the decarbonisation of Europe.
What is your vision for decarbonising heating and cooling in Europe by 2050?
We need to ramp up the energy efficiency investments in the society (houses, buildings etc.) and encourage the use of renewable energy sources, including the excess heat available in the industry, for domestic heating and cooling.
What is your contribution to this vision as stakeholder in your professional environment, but also as individual?
We are developing a new technological solution which will allow to recover, transport and use the low temperature heat (30 to 60°C) over long distances.
Who do you think is the strongest ally in making your vision of a decarbonised Europe a reality?
